As part of the Metropolitan Industries family, Emmons Metro is committed to providing the most robust pumping and control solutions throughout all of Upstate New York.

The story of our company, originally known as Emmons Pump & Control, began in 1993 with the acquisition of Starkweather Supply. The initial goal was to become the leading pump supplier in Upstate New York by providing greater emphasis on distributing a robust lineup of proven pumps and accessories. Today, we provide the largest stock of pumps and related items in the region, with over 200 pumps at all times including pumps for sump, sewage, grinders, and cutter applications. With our large inventory and system configuration capabilities, we have become a relied upon partner for providing custom engineered pump systems and integrated controls that meet unique application requirements.

Complementing our supply and system engineering is our repair servicing. Our acquisition of Irv’s Electric Motors in 1997 provided us with a wealth of added experience in providing pump and motor repairs. This paved the way for us to develop relied upon field service capabilities backed by unique problem-solving abilities. Since then, we’ve fostered relationships with countless municipalities in servicing pumping stations in the field. Our expertise is of great value to many private and commercial accounts through maintenance agreements and on demand service.

Our commitment to the education of the consumer is evident in our dedicated training facility. Seminars that educate industry leaders in the areas of pump maintenance, control troubleshooting, pump sizing, and technology advance are regularly offered. Our partnership with The State University at Delhi allows us to offer state mandated “continuing education” credits in the field of Onsite Wastewater Alternative Technology. We are always happy to host such an event or travel to the customer’s facility.

We are headquartered in Albany, NY a few blocks west of the I-90 and I-787 interchange. This proximity provides our customers a convenient location for pickups while allowing us to respond immediately to customer emergencies within the greater area. Our facility continues to foster growth and efficiency, while allowing for continued inventory growth, additional pump and motor testing and onsite consumer education and training.

In August, 2019, we were acquired by Metropolitan Industries, Inc. Based out of the Chicago metropolitan area, Metropolitan Industries was the first pump-based company to incorporate the combination of an extensive pump line, custom fabrication, control manufacturing and monitoring integration to custom design and engineer complete packaged pump systems. Today, Metropolitan is a nationally recognized project partner with a footprint spanning throughout North America for a variety of applications within the municipal, commercial, industrial and residential markets. Metropolitan’s vast portfolio of completed projects encompasses flow distribution, pressure control, treatment, collection, temperature control, hydronics and reuse.

To symbolize the synergy with Metropolitan Industries, our company was renamed Emmons Metro. The growth of our company over the last 20 plus years mirrors that of Metropolitan Industries through their 60 plus year history. As part of the Metropolitan Industries family, our team at Emmons Metro remain committed to providing top of the line customer service and bringing innovative quality products designed to provide the most optimized water movement and management solutions to our project partners and end users.
